Dissolvable Tools

Moss Seal supplies degradable materials for temporary completion tools, which must isolate a zone and then break down so the well can be brought on production without a mill-out run. From frac plugs, frac balls, and ball seats to bridge plugs and other temporary barriers, we match each material to well temperature, fluid chemistry, and the hold time the operation requires. Our range covers degradable grades of aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, elastomers, and composites for the bodies, balls, seats, and sealing elements of these tools.

See How a Dissolvable Frac Ball Disappears

A magnesium alloy ball holds pressure through the frac stage, then corrodes away in chloride brine, leaving nothing to mill out. Set the well conditions and watch the rate respond.

Rates are representative of commercial dissolvable alloys, not a specific product. In a live well the ball is also under flow and pressure, so it erodes as it dissolves and goes faster than this still column suggests.
