Nitrile
Economical resistance to oils and hydrocarbons for filter housings and process closures.

Moss Seal supplies door seals for pressure vessels, autoclaves, filter housings, and access closures where a large-perimeter joint has to seal reliably and still open on a routine cycle. Unlike a fixed static gland, a door seal must tolerate repeated opening, imperfect closure alignment, and wide swings in temperature and pressure. We size profile, material, and retention method to your door geometry and duty cycle, whether the closure is bolted, clamped, or inflatable.
ENGINEERING
A resilient profile seated in the door or frame groove is compressed as the closure is secured, taking up alignment variation across the whole perimeter.
Section shape is chosen from closure travel and available groove depth. Hollow and lobed profiles deflect further for doors with loose tolerances, while solid sections suit closures that land on a consistent, controlled stop.
Initial compression sets a seal at zero pressure. As the vessel pressurises, the profile is energised against the sealing face so contact stress rises with the differential rather than relying on bolt load alone.
Because the joint is opened routinely, the profile is specified to recover fully between cycles and to resist compression set, abrasion at the closure lip, and damage from misaligned or slammed doors.
