Machine Shop
Moss Seal's in-house machine shop produces custom seals and precision components when a standard catalog part won't fit the application. We machine PTFE, filled PTFE, PEEK, polyurethane, nylon, and other engineering polymers to your drawing, sample, or worn part, covering non-standard diameters, obsolete profiles, and one-off repairs as well as repeat production. With design support, material selection, and machining under one roof, we can turn a damaged seal or a sketch into a finished part quickly, keeping equipment running without waiting on long OEM lead times.
ENGINEERING
Machining Process
Our team takes each job from drawing, sample, or worn part to finished component, choosing the material, machining from stock shapes, and inspecting every part before it ships.
Design & engineering
We work from your drawing, a sample, or the mating hardware itself. Our engineers reverse-engineer worn or obsolete seals, recommend profile changes where they improve performance, and select the material for the pressure, temperature, speed, and fluid involved.
Precision machining
CNC lathes and mills cut seals, back-up rings, wear rings, bushings, and custom components to tight tolerances in a wide range of polymers. Machining from stock shapes means no tooling cost, so small quantities and prototypes are practical, and design changes can be made between runs.
Quality & turnaround
Every part is inspected against the drawing before it ships, with dimensional reports available on request. Because we stock material and machine in-house, urgent replacements can often be turned around in days, and production orders are scheduled to match your maintenance or build timeline.
